UPDATE: We are pleased to say Kate and Ian completed the 100 mile cycle challenge, raising just over £1000 between them.
On March 13th 2020, Kate Treviss and Ian Clark from Taylors Bulbs will be cycling 100 miles to raise money for Greenfingers Charity as part of Garden Re-Leaf Day 2020.
Starting from British Garden Centres Chilton Garden Centre in Oxfordshire, the event is part of Garden Re-Leaf Day which comprises many events within the horticulture industry with both retailers and suppliers aiming to raise as much money as possible for Greenfingers Charity. Since 2012, Garden Re-Leaf Day has raised over £600,000 for the charity.
Greenfingers create inspiring gardens in children’s hospices around the country. To date, the charity has built over 50 gardens which many children and their families have benefited from.
Kate, an Account Manager for Taylors Bulbs based in Dorset is a keen cyclist and enjoys taking part in long distance Audax cycling events so is well used to cycling over 100 miles in a day! Last year, Kate cycled over 1500 miles in total. 2020 will be Kate’s debut Garden Re-Leaf Day cycle challenge.
Ian, Business Manager at Taylors Bulbs enjoys mountain biking and road cycling and this will be his 3rd Garden Re-Leaf day cycle challenge having completed 100 miles in both 2018 and 2019. Ian cycled over 2500 miles during 2019.
