Our team have been busy tree and shrub planting at our Whaplode Marsh farm. As part of the Morewoods Project in coordination with Lincolnshire County Council and The Woodland Trust, we are planting 950 native trees and shrubs.
Trees and shrubs we have planted include:
- Field Maple
- Common Alder
- Hornbeam
- Hazel
- Spindle
- Crab Apple
- Bird Cherry
- Common Oak
- Rowan
- Dog Rose
- Hawthorn
Planting trees and shrubs helps to combat flooding and soil erosion, attract more wildlife, capture carbon and boost biodiversity. Birds, bats, dormice, moths, butterflies and fungi all depend on woods, trees and hedges to feed, breed and thrive.
